Held January 26 through February 4, 2007, NOIR CITY 5 saw more than 11,000 people attend the ten-day series at the Castro Theatre, and established a new box office milestone for the festival.
Veteran vintage film lovers and hardcore noir fans mixed and mingled every night on the mezzanine to enjoy the fabulous jazz styling of Marcus Shelby, Dmitri Matheny, Mr. Lucky, and a special torch song set by the reigning Miss Noir City, Ivory Madison. Adult refreshment was courtesy of Eagle Rare Bourbon and Rain Vodka.
The NOIR CITY siren call was heard loud and clear across the world, as the festival garnered feature stories in the New York Times, International Herald Tribune, and Télérama, France's leading cultural weekly.
